About: I absolutely love Mr Stacky! It was a gift for my 21st birthday, as I’d recently gotten into a bit of gardening at the time, and i have to say how amazing it is! It’s become a part of my morning routine to check on all the plants and move the water nozzles around. Its the best gift I’ve ever received. I have a mix between edible plants (salads mostly) and flowers, to give the Bees something to munch on (even though i am scared of flying insects).

As you can probably see in Photo 1 & 2, I have been a bit creative in helping some my plants to stay growing upwards, instead of into the level below. I’d have to say my greatest tip would be, if you have any of those wooden take away cutlery packets, or chop sticks, they work perfectly for propping plants up. especially if you’re wanting to point them into the sun more.

Don’t let tomatoes in your Mr Stacky grow too big as they can get out of control with no support, so best to trim them back 🙂 Brasicas grow really well and fast in Mr Stacky!

About: I absolutely adore my Mr Stacky smart tower! Everything in the tower has grown quickly from seed and is thriving (even through the freezing Canberra winter) The tower has been keeping us in fresh greens and herbs for months now and it has been so convenient to be able to harvest just the amount you need for a recipe. The tower is perfect to maximise yields in courtyards and small spaces- especially if you add the heavy-duty trolley (also sold by mr stacky) that allows you to move the tower around easily to make the most of the sun at different times of the year.

About: ): I chose mr Stacky because of the ease of use and the amount of food you can grow in such a small area.

The product is fantastic. I just wish I had more room in the back yard for more.
My tip, is to place your Mr Stacky in as much sun as you can get. Keep the fertiliser topped up and eat healthy every single day.
I walk out every day and pick lettuce, celery, and herbs and it just continues to produce.

About: I came across Mr Stacky on my search for a low maintenance, Australian version of a vertical grow-bed system.
My experience over the last 4 months with the 5 Tiered system has been great. Every seed I have tried planting so far has grown fast and hearty. I have even managed to grow lavender up here in the heat of North Queensland without any issues, after being told by many who have tried before that it’s not an easy feat.

I generally use half of the system as a seed germinator to guarantee an expedient, high germination rate, and then plant the healthy juveniles of larger plants, in my raised beds where they have more space to grow. The system usually lived on my patio which receives a good 6-8 hours of sun in Summer and 5-6 in Winter.

I would recommend to future users to get some additional coco coir bricks so you are ready to refurbish the ‘petals’ after transplanting any plants that have outgrown the system. 10/10 would recommend.

About: I am in love with my Mr Stacky planter! Living in a townhouse with minimal garden that’s shaded by large trees this little vertical planter is perfect. I can move it around to different spots in the garden to make sure the plants get the full sun they need and deserve. I’ve managed to grow zucchini during our winter which was a surprise with the first little zucchini forming as we speak! During the lettuce crisis we’ve also managed to grow our own cos lettuce! I would recommend this planter to any new and aspiring gardeners to start off with because it has such wonderful results!

About: Still new and learning. The height helps to keep the strawberries out of reach of my six ducks. It maximises space using the edge of a rock wall and it’s shade falling on a pathway. The height helps to lift plants so they get more sunlight, as I’m on a south slope.

About: This system is AMAZING!!! I grew everything in the tower last year from seed. I just followed Mr Stacky’s instructions and had a huge and long-running harvest. No shortage of lettuce, rocket, kale, silverbeet, bok choy in our house. Good tomatoes, carrots, beets and radishes too.
We only have a small deck with lots of shadows that reduce the sunlight time. Very impressed with what Mr Stacky helped us achieve.
This year we’ll be raising seeds indoors ready to plant out instead of seeds to get an even bigger and longer harvest.
It’s also been cool to try growing winter crops. The broccoli got a bit out of control and we ended up with a brilliant display of yellow flowers.
Thanks so much Mr Stackey!

About: My combination smart farm and vertical garden recirculating setup using a single solar powered pump and drainage pipe into garden when water needs replacing. Doesn’t grow much through the cold Tassie winter but is now setup ready for spring/summer growing. One year on and have had success with strawberries, leafy greens, lettuce and beans. Overall a great, low maintenance method of gardening! Loving my Mr Stacky!!!

About:With Mr Stackey we were able to move the tiers into sunlight , whenever we were available. This enabled us to grow turnip, spinach, celery and pak choy & lettuce throughout Melbourne winter. We can move it to wherever it suits us most. It did our particular yard requires creativity in solutions due to shade, renting & our age, bending for gardening is not really the best thing for over 60’s ! This was our first year growing turnip for roasting. Delicious. It did far better than the pallet garden. We would love to have more Mr Stackey and try the hydroponic. I would like to do strawberries this summer in a Mr Stackey. I would not say we are highly successful yet but this was our most productive tier given our Melbourne winter and shade issues.

About: Very easy to set up, the coco coir and perlite medium is great to use along with the nutrients. The photos show what were rather limp seedlings from the big green shed. It only took them 3 days to start to stand up and now after 3 weeks now look at them. It has renewed my interest in gardening and using herbs in cooking and takes very little maintenance compared to gardening in normal soil . I have since bought a 200 ml syringe so I can recycle the nutrient water from the drip tray . Would love to have a solar hydroponic tower. to make the watering easier and more consistent.

Garden Fail # 42

Owner Name: Grant

I would like yo enter the Mr stack competition as I have never had a green thumb. The picture of my rhubarb is devastating. I have been told it grows like a weed. It is 4 years old. I initially planted it but it almost died. I managed to save a little and it has been in this pot for 3 years and it dies and grows continuously. I have killed cucumbers and chilli bushes. I want a Mr stack vertical garden to see if I can turn my thumbs green. Help.
