About: My 5 tier garden grows multiple things throughout the year. In FNQ year round lettuce and strawberries are impossible so it’s a constant process of letting something grow, harvest it, grow the next seasonal thing. When it’s not growing food crops it’s growing medicinal herbs and flowers for the bees.
I have mine irrigated with slow drip coils to ensure it remains hydrated in the hot dry environment. In the rainy season it’s not needed.
At the moment I am growing strawberries in mine and have harvested the lettuces from other tiers. New plants are about to go in. Everlasting daisies on the top tier, micro tomatoes further down.
If you don’t have adequate sunlight, grow things that prefer the shade further down the stack. Anything that wants a lot of sun sun, up top.

About: Started with the 5 teir stack and converted to the hydroponic kit – highley recommend using the hydroponics if like me you may forget to water all the time – the amount of extra growth is amazing.

The canberra winter can be harsh, moving the stacky next to a wall or under shelter helps a lot.

Parsley, Mint, Chives, Garlic Chives and Tyme have been a stand out thru the canberra winter.

Garden Fail # 66

I returned to my home town from Brisbane to a small remote country town in the eastern wheatbelt of WA to care for my aged parents. Cold frosty winters, with dry hot summers and no regular quality fruit and vegetable supplies available are troublesome enough. But the real dilemma is discovering to my dismay my family home yard had been regularly sprayed with glyphosate when my parents were no longer able to keep the yard tidy and weed free. So I cannot grow anything healthy. I would be very grateful for some help to grow some healthy food. I have been dreaming of getting a couple of Mr Stacky towers for a long time as my research had lead me to this as the perfect solution. Just still saving up to achieve this goal. Thank you for considering my submission. Kind regards Sophie.

I manage to keep some plants alive however the dead ones have surpassed the living; another one bites the dust. Maybe if I win and use your method I will have more success.

I’m a new grower with my wife, and we decided to get Mr. Stacky’s new Aeroponic tower to grow indoors because you guys are experienced with many years and different methods and excellent support!

We JUST finished setting up our aeroponics tower today and got all the plants in just in time for this submission at 9.30pm Sunday! We want to learn to grow our veges so we can have organic, affordable and the freshes veges for our health and wellbeing. Thank you!

I’ve also included ‘myself’ as requested ‘a human’ for 3 draws! haha Cheers

I live in an apartment with a small balcony, but I miss growing my own herbs and vegetables. I have a successful indoor hydroponic herb garden, but last year I decided to grow tomatoes on my balcony. Because I’m not very smart, I decided to grow them upside down in hanging baskets – got forbid I could do something the normal way for once. I set them up with marigolds on top, and even had an automatic drip waterer to stop them from getting thirsty. I probably spent $200 all up. They got off to a promising start. For about four weeks they looked great, and I really thought I’d get a healthy crop of cherry tomatoes. I babied them, I checked them daily, I made sure they were properly watered and fed, and after a few weeks I got my first flowers – and it was all downhill from there. The drip waterer struggled to keep up with demand, and with hot, windy weather the plants dried out easily. One particularly hot day, the drip waterer got blocked. By the time I got home, it was too late. The marigolds had wilted, and the tomato plants (already basically just stalks by this point) were looking very sad.

Don’t be fooled by the photos from the beginning, or other peoples’ success stories online. It doesn’t work. I spent hundreds of dollars and hours of time to end up with zero tomatoes, a bunch of dead marigolds, and two dried out tomato stalks hanging depressingly out the bottom of a hanging basket.

There are, quite clearly, much smarter ways to make the most of growing in limited space!

This is a sad strawberry plant in my airgarden. It definitely has some root rot and maybe it is nutrient deficient. There is no forgiveness with EC and Ph. Which are supposed to be checked and adjusted weekly. For me that doesn’t happen. Oops too busy today, will do it tomorrow……then two weeks pass and I still haven’t done it! The strawberries would be better in the coco coir which buffers ec, ph and temperature. And I wouldn’t need to worry about fiddling with the timer when the temperature fluctuates.

I was so happy to have successfully grown some Holy Tusli Basil from seed in my little wall mounted planters. I was looking forward to making some Holy Basil tea and benefiting from it’s positive effects on my blood pressure and sugar.
However, one weekend I forgot to water and the Basil was reduced to a few forlorn twigs.
A Smart Farm Tower which looks after the watering itself and hydroponic nutrients would be a great way to get back on track, grow basil for my tea, improve my health and not loose my temper and my crops.

Today i downloaded the ebook and have been inspired to grow some vegetables using the Mr Stacky method. With Mr Stacky’s help, surely I can get some vegies to grow!!

Lack of knowledge, the strawberry plants have provided 2 fruits an average of 1 a year. The only bunch of grapes went to a very loud and demanding magpie baby and I kill mint. Although the parsley seems to have survived.. must have made a mistake with that one.😀

I live in a small suburban home with a tiny backyard. Almost 8 years ago I bought some raised garden beds and a tonne of soil. I didn’t realise raised garden beds can still get infiltrated with weeds!!!!! Also the lawn weaseled it’s way in to the beds. Every year I break my back turning over the soil and getting rid of weeds and lawn runners! I love growing my own veggies 😊
My Stacky can help me yeild the same amount of produce as all of these labour intensive garden beds. Cheers for taking the time to review my submission!

About: All types of lettuce and spinach seem to be foolproof. I put flowers on the bottom level to make it look pretty and deter the chooks.

Flat parsley is EXTREMELY vigorous so only 1 plant is needed unless you own a kebab shop.!! I rotate the MR STACKY a quarter turn every day I put washing on the line to make sure all sides are getting enough sun.

I bought an extra length of clear pipe from Bunnings and when I empty MR STACKY, I collect the water in watering cans and tub trugs to water all my other pot plants.

About: It was only a month ago that we put together our 3 Tower Hydroponic Garden on a balcony at the front of our house. Three weeks ago we planted Baby Beet, Baby Cos, Mignonette Lettuce, Perpetual Spinach and Mini Bell Capsicum seeds and even capsicum seeds from a supermarket capsicum and they have all germinated and are growing nicely. The garlics I had sprouted in water are all standing tall. We also planted some very bedraggled pot-bound Chinese greens which have not only recovered but are actually blooming!

About: I received my hydroponic tower in early winter, and I’ve been pleased with how many things have been growing well. I have my tower on a northern veranda, so it gets sun over winter and is fairly protected from sometimes -5C frosts over winter. I’ve even managed to nurture a young zucchini plant, and it just flowered.
