About: Well….Probably not the glamour shot of all types of magnificent herbs cascading down Mr Stacky’s sides like some sort of emerald green living fountain. But let’s face it, with Mr Stacky, that’s pretty much a given. Instead I’d like you to meet Mr Frog. Mr Frog decided to move in with Mr Stacky a couple of months ago. At first I moved him to another part of the garden (worried about effects of nutrient), but he just kept coming back, so it looks like he’s here to stay! No more bugs either. I keep it simple, coir, perlite, whatever potting mix the seedlings come in, and the occasional dose of nutrients. Pump for 15 minutes, 4 times a day. Coriander, sweet basil, mint, thyme, oregano, parsley, chives and a lovely, but eye watering Trinidad Scorpion chilli. I really do love my Mr Stacky!!!

About: I’ve dabbled with growing veg for many years, with mixed results. I liked the idea of Mr Stacky & given our lack of space we thought we’d give it a go. I love it! My husband loves it! This year it is primarily our lettuce patch. I’ve never been able to grow enough lettuce to feed our large consumption, but Mr Stacky just keeps it coming! And it is sooo tasty – you can walk past &pick a leaf for an enjoyable snack. Never have different varieties been so distinctly flavoursome.

About: I received a Mr Stacky three tower DIY garden last Christmas. I work from home and totally enjoyed eating fresh salad daily …until COVID when the family joined me for lunch and I couldn’t keep up. The stack is due to be re-seed but coriander and spinach keeps coming back naturally. Unfortuately, with the family distractions I haven’t kept up the maintenance and the frogs moved into the water trough. The tadpoles are fine but our dog loves poking frogs and the noise they put out gives my son nightmares! I’d love to try a smart garden (frog proof) and create a better set up for water (we’re on tank water) so we can leave the fogs and mint to themselves!

About: This is the first hydroponics set-up I’ve had and I’m really enjoying everything about it. I’m glad for the solar power option, which makes it even more sustainable. The pak choy has given us a lot of crop and I’ve shared it with a few friends and family. The capsicum plants are monsters and giving a heap of produce too. All in all, I’d be glad to get my hands on another 🙂

About: Having tried many gardening techniques for fruit and vegetables over the years turned my interest to trying hydroponics and aeroponics. The stacky tower gardens are well priced compared to aeroponic solutions and the after sales support has been great. The plants are really thriving so much so the tomato plant caused the top heavy tower to blow over in windy weather. My only suggestions would be a larger pot instead of a cover that could go on top of a reservoir for larger species such as tomatoes and some add on to make trellising easier as it was difficult to find an off the shelf product that would fit and be stable. All up I’m super happy with the setup and will probably look to expand it in the future once we get to know the plant varieties that work best for us.

About: Being a beginner gardener I’m
loving my Mr Stacky’s!
I started with a 5 tier manual watering tower in
October 2020 and have since added the Solar smart farm. I found that living in
the Territory the sun is hot hot hot so being able easily to maneuver my tower
into some spotted shade to escape the intensity is fantastic. It also
has been wonderful during big storms where I can move it undercover for some
protection from the strong winds!! Having the 2 stackers gives me the freedom
to not only grow more but make for happy plants with different levels of the sun
in different areas of my home (herbs with the morning sun).

About: I’m a real beginner at hydroponics, so I thought I would give myself the best chance of success by building my own poly tunnel greenhouse and filling it with a nine-tower Mr Stacky system. Up in the Pakenham hills we get a lot of wind and there are constant attacks by every which marauding animals, birds and insects. Here it is – my wife and I just planted masses of seeds and turned on the nutrient system, so are hoping for great things to come – holding our green thumbs!

About: Just love this! My husband was a little dubious at first but now like me, is a total convert! We harvest salad items almost daily, our celery is getting close to full size, and we’re picking strawberries daily. And our herbs are going rampant! I have it on our deck so that when I’m in the kitchen I look out over it and can see if it needs watering.

About: Like many people, I started my foray into growing vegetables during COVID. Mr Stacky was a quick solution to maximising small space gardens. I had some issues with the bottom pot sitting in water due to over-zealour watering but after removing the drip tray things are dandy and I’ve been getting bunches of cherry tomatoes and flowers since!

About: The reason I went too hydroponics was due to the amount of water needed to run compared too a conventional garden. Water in South East Queensland is at a premium.

I choose this system because of the design and simplicity of using the system and it gives you the capability of adding too it.

I have only been using the system for a year now and have some good results with it. I have had problems with the system flooding due the roots blocking up the drain holes. Too over come this I have placed a small amount of clay pebbles in the bottom and covered it up with the coco and perlite mix.

My resoiuvour is linked together and I have had problems in the past with perlite blocking the outlet pipes. To over come this I have covered the pipe with the pipe with fine mesh, which has worked. The valves at the bottom of each resoiuvour gives me the flexibility of cleaning each system individually as I can isolate them.

My plan now is to use the fertiliser injection system and convert my system I have now to the vertical garden kit into the old vege garden. The idea is that I still have the benefit of hydroponics and a soul vege patch. The excess nutrients gets absorbed into the soil and the plants use that and I have better control of how much water is used versus running a sprinkler for 15 mins a day.
